Gaming : when it gets emotional. 0
Everybody knows that in order to highly involve TV viewers, nothing beats a good, strong emotional moment. But what happens when you combine this recipe with the gaming world?
It is called BioShock and had been released by 2K Games earlier this year. The plot is rather complex and fascinating: it starts with an airplane crash over the Atlantic and keeps getting creepier by the second. Most of the action happens in Rapture, an uderwater city created by a mad scientist. Within Rapture lived a whole society that discovered a way to give itself superpower, bringing almost everybody in a deadly chaos. Still surviving, 8 year-old little girls which are paired with monsters. Until now, nothing new.
Where BioShock gets different is how close you get to the different characters that will have to either be partnered of killed at some point in the adventure. Many times, players have a moral choice to do and some of them expressed their discomfort after ‘wrong, bad’ decisions they did along the line. (Luckily, Start Over is still an option here.)
The game is uncomparable in its form and visuals got rave reviews from players all over the world. Growing every year, the gaming industry kept offering experiences very similar from one product to the next. BioShock is intended to shake things up this year, and the creator (which has seen its project refused by many studios in the last few years) is already working on its next project.
Soundtrack is available for free here.
